Fog disrupts air, rail traffic in Delhi

NEW DELHI: Piercing cold waves swept the national capital and several northern states on Thursday with dense fog engulfing the areas. (Watch )
New Delhi is completely fogged out this New Years causing major flightand train disruptions due to poor visibility.
With visibility at 150 meters, several flights have been delayed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi.
Many trains have also been delayed because of poor visibility due to dense fog.
A cold breeze swept through the national capital though the minimum temperature was recorded at 8.2 degrees Celsius, which is slightly above normal at this time of the season.
The maximum temperature was recorded at 16 degrees Celsius, six notches below the normal level. Cold conditions also prevailed in Uttar Pradesh and claimed the life of a farmer in Muzaffarnagar.
